The Michelin Guides for LA never really set any standards for must visit restaurants.

I always thought they only visit the few areas for fine dining, but never really take a good look at other areas. Bad economy? Yeah sure. Like that LA guide would be any more useful than the guide passed out at Disneyland hotels for local eateries. I have heard that guide was more popular and it's free. LOL

Another vote for XIV. What about Animal or Marche Moderne (too OC and not in LA?)Right Way to Eathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01771314441239913617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1945539640055788006.post-40564491618630328782009-07-20T13:07:02.769-07:002009-07-20T13:07:02.769-07:00You think Michelin pulled out of LA because of the...You think Michelin pulled out of LA because of the bad rep they got for their lackluster review process and controversy they received for it? In their press release, they cite bad economic conditions, whatever that's supposed to mean.

I'll agree about dropping Patina. I'm sure Bazaar and XIV would've made it. Not that I've been to XIV, but come on, Michael Mina in LA? It would've been impossible for Michelin not to jump on that oneAaronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11416750618176810371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1945539640055788006.post-22770994269288296632009-06-29T23:53:37.937-07:002009-06-29T23:53:37.937-07:00Hey Kevin,

Wow, those two got mixed from others. So you do enjoyed it that much. I think XIV will have to be on my agenda in the fall or late summer. Too many other places that are on the list now.

Hi Weezer Monkey,

Wow, I guess I will need a refresher visit to Water Grill. I think most recent experience with the chef was at 5x5 dinner at Providence. The dish was not the highlight as it was not up to par with the other dishes. However, I'll give this place another go since I haven't really visited this place in a long time.

Hey Burumun,

Wow. Ok, you confirmed what I was thinking about XIV and Drago Centro, but I still want to visit XIV down the road.

BTW, c'mon...you have always been notorious! Seriously, ask anyone. :P J/K!Right Way to Eathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01771314441239913617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1945539640055788006.post-14989052618943834912009-06-29T11:45:24.855-07:002009-06-29T11:45:24.855-07:00Yes, really now, why am I so notorious all of a su...Yes, really now, why am I so notorious all of a sudden? :P

Agreeing on Bazaar and maybe Rivera with Kevin.
